Aklank College was established in the year 1998 with six subjects- Hindi Literature, English Literature, Sociology, Public Administration,Political Science and Economics in the faculty of Arts. For three years the college ran smoothly with these subjects. In the year 2002, Home-Science, Drawing and Painting and Sanskrit were added with the array of subjects. Geography and History subjects were started in 2003. Now there are more than 11 subjects for the students to choose from and excel in them.

Keeping in view the growing interest towards Science stream, Aklank College started B.Sc. (Both Bio.&Maths) from the Session 2016-2017 . There are well-equipped Laboratories of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology in the college. The students accomplish their experimental tasks under the able guidance of experienced faculty members and lab- assistants. The students can also prepare themselves for competitive and entrance exams along with the regular classes which are provided free of cost to the students.

Computers have brought up a revolutionary change in the past couple of decades. Since the advent of computer it has become an integral part of the education system. To keep up the pace in these innovations of today, computer education is extremely important. With the new advancement in the field of computers and in a time when there is a boom in the IT industry, the College started three years professional degree course BCA in the year 2008.
The college is contributing in its own inimitable way to the development of Information Technology by offering the course with the help of efficient and highly qualified teachers and through a well-resourced lab. The computer lab is well equipped with the latest hardware and software facilities.
The computing infrastructure was further strengthened with system upgrades as well as new hardware and software acquisition, with these acquisition college now has fully air conditioned lab having around 50 PC’s and printers, scanners, LCD projectors etc.

M.A. Drawing and Painting is a master level course in Drawing and Painting with duration of two years. By the texture of a material we can identify it whether it is glass is smooth and slick, sand is gritty and fine. Part of painting and drawing is the addition of texture, whether the piece is realistic or abstract. The course highlights the visual textures that can be created to look like real textures, two-dimensional work of art; texture gives a visual sense of how an object would feel in real life.

Faculty members of the department keep abreast with the latest developments in their respective field of study by attending seminars, workshops and refresher courses.
The core topics under the study in this field of science are Food and Nutrition, Resource Management, Textiles and Clothing, Human Development, Extension and Education, family ecosystem and so on. In reality, Home Science is the only subject which prepares young talented candidates for the most important goals in their lives which includes looking after ones’ family and preparing for a safe and secure career.
